Natural Gas Feed Method
Features:
Our gas separation and purification solutions integrate technologies such as pressure swing adsorption (PSA), cryogenic separation, and chemical absorption. This synergistic approach allows us to tailor our offerings to diverse gas source conditions and desired product specifications, enabling us to provide customers with optimized solutions.
We employ high-quality hydrogen adsorbents, specialized carbon monoxide adsorbents, and other advanced adsorbents that boast exceptional adsorption capacities, selectivity, mechanical strength, and extended service lives, positioning our technology at the forefront of global standards. Our hydrogen production equipment is equipped with intelligent control systems that facilitate automatic pressure adjustment, fault self-diagnosis, automatic parameter optimization, and system safety interlocks.
Key features of our solutions include:
1) High hydrogen recovery rates, reaching 90% or higher.
2) Our program-controlled valves, a critical component of the pressure swing adsorption unit, are designed for compact size, lightweight construction, precise and stable operation, rapid switching speed, superior valve sealing performance (ANSI Class 6), extended service life (300,000 cycles), and integrated position indicators.
3) The pressure swing adsorption process is controlled by a distributed control system (DCS), ensuring stable and reliable operation.
Product Details
The natural gas feed method, known as Steam Methane Reforming (SMR), is one of the most widely adopted processes for utilizing light hydrocarbon feedstocks. Our expertise encompasses engineering and manufacturing solutions tailored to produce hydrogen meeting the stringent purity requirements for fuel cell applications.
Additionally, our scope of supply extends to hydrogen production plants that can utilize various other hydrocarbon feedstocks, such as refinery dry gas, naphtha, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), and more. These facilities are capable of producing not only hydrogen but also carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide.
Regarding the SMR process specifically, the principal feed raw materials are natural gas or methane.
Process:
The process involves exposing methane to high-temperature steam in the presence of a catalyst, facilitating a reforming reaction that yields synthesis gas (syngas). Prior to this step, the raw natural gas feedstock undergoes desulfurization treatment. The syngas then undergoes a water-gas shift reaction, where carbon monoxide is converted to hydrogen and carbon dioxide. Finally, an adsorbent system removes the carbon dioxide, leaving behind purified hydrogen as the desired product.

CH4+H2O→CO+3H2
CO+H2O→CO2+H2
